What is the point? My cast alloy cover seals fine with a stock cork gasket with
a touch of Permatex Blue. No leaks from it. Can't say the same for the rest of
the car.

Hi all,

Out of curiosity - has anyone ever had a groove milled into the bottom
flange of a cast aluminum valve cover to accomodate some o-ring cord to use
in place of the cork gasket?

Any ideas why this wouldn't work?
