Just as a helpful note to everyone, the AE piston sets are really overpriced
for what you get. AE has gone the cheap route and supplies a cheap single
cast iron oil scraper ring. The County brand piston is almost an exact copy
in every respect AND the County pistons come with proper three piece oil
rings. I have customers that insist on AE, and then I insist that they buy
a proper set of rings, and that adds another $60 to the cost the already
overpriced AE piston set.

So I really push that most people (including my engine customers) opt to buy
the Countys, I have only seen two defective County pistons in the last three
or four years that I have been using them. It was a machining error where
the piston was not setup properly in the lathe that cuts the barrel taper on
the skirts of the piston. It was immediately noticible upon my first
inspection of the pistons, and no harm done, as I received replacements
immediately.

You can't often go wrong when a part is cheaper and includes better quality
components than the competitor's set.
