Regarding those speakers..  The units installed at the factory are
special tweeters that go with a special output on the Miata head unit.
They will sound like crap if you plug them into a normal speaker output
on a standard head unit.

For around $60.00 you can put a pair of full range 3 inch speakers into
each seat and get very acceptable sound at speed when supplemented with
some bigger speakers in the kidneys.
