My original post was lacking some important information and also contained
some information that may have been misleading.
The car does not operate from points any longer but instead uses a Crane
XR700 electronic ignition. The retard module is still in place on the dizzy
but the vacuum line is disconnected. The car will start and idle as
smoothly as it ever has, just has a pronounced stumble/hesitation on
acceleration when the engine rpm's are below 2000.
