Hi list,
When I first purchased my Six in '86, first project was a badly needed top.
Bought Robbins from TRF and put it on myself. I've always 'believed' I put
it down correctly:
- Zip out rear window - just seems better to get it out of the way first.
- unsnap all around and above, loosen velcro
- open at windscreen
- from outside, lift up and back
- fold top back over trunk lid
- fold in corner windows on top
- roll top over into area behind seats
- install boot (optional)
With the 3 snaps on the left and right, under the corner window, this
technique causes the corner windows to slightly fold at the lower rear
corner . I knew eventually this would cause a break there, which it finally
has. Top has lasted pretty darn good, garaged for 15 of those 19 years.
SO, here's the question (finally). I've always wondered if installing four
(4) snaps on each side would allow the top to fold in a slightly more inward
spot, and not cause the corner windows to be folded when put down. Anybody
have an experience with this? Or a totally different technique for dropping
the top?
Thanks,
Sloane :)

PS: Have you ever been with a friend when putting up or down the top on his
MG-B?? What a laugh!! I said, "Are we putting it down or taking it apart?"
