Pat - I put my money on a leaking rear main seal. I don't
think the overfill is the cause - probably just a coincidence.
But the seal will leak and oil the pressure plate, which soaks
it up - that's why there's no oil spots under the car - and the
car can judder as the pressure plate is engaged. A new pressure
plate and seal cured the problem for me.
