Here's my two cents about it, based on your considerations:
1 - Since you are obviously not comfortable with the current condition, I
don't think you really want to just "leave all as is"
2 - Use bolts/lockwashers instead of studs - If you go with this, I'd not
use lockwashers and instead drill the bolt heads and use safety wire.
There's not a lot of torque to hold the lockwashers and I just don't trust
them.
3 - Replacing the helicoils with solid threaded inserts - I think that in
doing this, you'll run a large risk of buggering up the holes so bad that
you won't be able to fit any insert.
Now , here's what I'd do: I would leave the helicoils in place. I would
use a medium-strength threadlocker on the studs to keep them from backing
out of the holes. If, at a subsequent disassembly, any of the studs back
out of the holes and bring the helicoil with them, at that time I'd do your
solid insert upgrade (but not until it actually happens).
