Carl---SC's that do not fit the TRiumph bracket at the engine back plate
is the end result of companies who sell generic parts. I suppose the
bracket could be bored out to fit, or the body of the SC turned
undersize.

If you bolt the SC to the "wrong" side of the bracket, this will cause
the piston to have to reach too far to disengage the clutch. In some
cases the piston could pop out of its bore. If you don't want to have
to re-engineer this piece, then purchase a genuine SC from another
store. Let VB know what the problem is with the one they sent you.

Hi.
I have another problem with my slave cylinder. The new one I purchased
from Victoria British does not fit thru its holding hole the way the old
one did. (it is about 1mm larger than the hole). Can the slave cylinder
fit universally on either side of the holder hole and still work with
the plunging fork or does it only fit one way to make the fork work
properly? (ie to the right of the holder hole as you are facing the car,
which is the way the old one was positioned)
