Vance---To avoid a possible repeat of the broken cable, it would be good
to try turning the speedo by hand.You can easily do this by using a
length of an old speedo cable, cut off to about a foot long, or so. The
instrument internals should turn smoothly as you twist this cable CCW.
If you feel a snag, or the resistance is greater that a cable this size
would be capable of turning, it may be time to have the unit, repaired.
(I just went thru this exercise on another guy's TR6)
