This spring I installed a 2 piece Stainless steel Falcon Header and had it
cermaic coated inside and out. The is a noticable reduction in the amount of
under hood heat. Previous I had a non ceramic coated Quicktrip Monza header.
The Monza header was a nightmare to install. I had to take it off and on at
least 6 times to get it to fit correctly. This header produced so much heat
there were lots of problems with the carbs and fuel flow. I designed a heat
shield and installed between the carbs and the header. This reduced the heat
to
the carbs, but cooked all the wiring to the starter motor.
The Falcon header installed much easier and was a perfect fit the first
time...quality pays, it is worth spending the extra bucks. I no longer use the
heat shield and they look great.
As mentioned in an earlier post the exhaust note is harsher and louder than
before. My engine specs are much the same as yours, GP2 cam, roller rockers,
9.5:1 comp etc.
I have been told that ceramic coating a stainless header is overkill, so now
it will outlast the rest of the car.
