I replied to Kevin and the list yesterday but I don't believe that it went
through. So I'm recending so everyone will have a heads up.

Kevin and List,

I installed a gunst last spring along with my gearbox which I had rebuilt
over the winter. The gunst was purchased through Nelson Riedel when he
place one of the original bulk orders for interested owners. I had about
1000 miles on my clutch assemble (Borg & Beck) which I reused along with the
gunst bearing and the preloading spring. No problems until I hit about 800
miles of use which is when I started to notice a chirping sound which would
disappear when the clutch was depressed. I had never had any problems
before so I wasn't sure exactly what was wrong. I crawled under the six and
removed the preloading spring and the chirping stop for the most part until
I start to depress the clutch. Initially it will chirp until the pedal is
almost fully depressed then it stops. I don't want to alarm the list
because it may be just an isolated case but it should be noted. Hopefully
others will fair better with their bearings.
