Your checklist would depend on if you are going to strip the complete car
down or not. I assume that you are. There aren't set ways of disassembling
your car. I preferred to lighten the car as much as possible when removing the
body from the frame. This would include, seats, doors, bonnet, boot, all
chrome and bumper brackets (this must be done), hydraulic lines to brake M/C
and Clutch M/C, windshield, top frame so on and so forth. You will need to
remove the carbs to pull the body, but the engine can remain. Get a Bentley
manual and TFR's Green and Blue parts catalogues for references.
A MUST is a digital camera and take various pictures of brake lines,
wiring, dash components, etc when taking the car apart. This will help
tremendously for reassembly!!!! Lots of zip lock bags with little notes inside
as to where the parts go.
Get a Xerox copy of the frame in the Bentley manual and make notes as to
where and how many body spacers are in each location!!! This will help you get
the body and doors back to the correct locations.
You can see how I removed the body at the link below.
Words of encouragement, I had never attempted anything as extreme as a frame
off either, but do have pretty decent mechanical skills and never knew how to
weld until the TR.
Good luck, and there are plenty on the web to offer friendly hints and
advice. If you car doesn't have rust the battle is half way over!!
