Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on my brake light question.
Several of you were right on with your suggestions. It was the fuse
connections! They looked fine when I pulled the fuse, but there must
have been some hard-to-see corrosion. I just sanded them down, wiggled
the fuse and voila! As a couple of you guys noted, it's useful to know
that the brake lights are on the same fuse as the fuel and temp. gauge.
In case the gauges go you know that you've lost your brake lights...
