Robert,
If your car is correct, there is enough of a gap at the top of the windows
to let fresh air in. This prevents fume build up. : )
Seriously, I found that a good trunk seal seems to help. Also, make sure you
don't have any oil leaks that are getting on the manifold. It doesn't take
much to make quite a stink.

Subject: Fumes
I am getting exhaust fumes in the car when I have the top up and windows
closed or just a small gap, drivers side. The trunk gets pretty smelly as
well. What gives? I have put fresh grommets everywhere, I have checked for
leaks from the exhaust manifold. The pipes have been welded all the way to
the
muffler. As my car is all white, I get major exhaust dirt on the tail. Any
thoughts. The top is up and windows closed as its sometimes 32 deg. when I
am
on my way to work in the morning. Going faster doesn't help guys!!!
