Hello all,
I recently had the displeasure of loosing $161.00. Gone with no apparent
ability of recuperation. Burn those $100 bills, baby. My TR6 could
certainly use those funds. The cost of a new wire wheel, a nylon carpet set,
a seat foam kit, etc.
I feel that the PayPal sytem is anything but secure. I will no longer
accept PayPal for anything I sell, that is certain. Unless you authorize
PayPal to have control of your bank account or you are willing to take a
chance as to whether the funds wil be good or not. And with absolutely no
way of knowing. Going to the casino at least you know what your odds are.
I sold an item on eBay and accepted payment via PayPal. The buyer had zero
negatives and I shipped the item to their confirmed address. And I have
proof. Doesn4t matter. PayPal doesn4t care. I did everything that both
PayPal and eBay require for the transaction. 2 months after the transaction
PayPal automatically took the funds back out of my account and further told
me that they would not help me with the situation by giving me any
information concerning the issue. I have to have a subpoena. This was
their response. PayPal could just as easily have said: "Go *bleep*
yourself". I have absolutely no way of correcting the situation and getting
my money without spending far more money than was robbed of me. Welcome to
PayPal.
I feel that everyone should stay FAR away from PayPal, both on the buyers
side and the sellers side. PayPal clauses have zero-risk built into the
deal only for PayPal and all of the risk built into the agreement for the
buyers and sellers. They never loose a cent, but you surely can! ! ! 16,100
cents in my case. My example is perfect. I even read and understood the
USER AGREEMENT.
Of course I am available to further expound on this issue for those
interested, though it will take me a while to respond, as I4m currently in
Spain. Off line of course.
I just wanted all you good people to know.
Sincerely,
Dave Herbert
