Joe:

I had a 1969 in the early 1980's that was painted black. It had the 5 bolt
mag looking wheel covers - would have looked better with chrome spokes but
I was a poor college student at the time and couldn't afford to switch.
The car was very straight and looked good. I was single then and had more
time to wash and polish. Unfortunately the car met it's demise on I-630
one night in Dallas when I was rear ended and lost control and rolled the
car. I was traveling about 60mph when I was rear ended, the other driver
had some 70's American made sled that out-weighed me by more than a few
pounds. Amazingly I wasn't hurt. He said his accelerator got stuck... In
reality he was doing that "switch lanes at 90 mph while weaving in traffic"
deal and made a slight error.

Today I have a '72 that's Jasmine yellow, much more tolerant of dust and
dirt than the black one.
