Joe,

You might try rummaging through the gallery at Corey Sherman's site for some 
ideas of how black will look.  There are what appear to be black TR6's in the 
gallery to give you an idea how it might look.  I'm thinking of black or a 
midnight blue for my '71.

I thought he had a utility that allowed you to change colors and wheels but 
maybe I saw it elsewhere.
