lower a-arm bushings

I'm in the process of replacing the front suspension bushings.  The top are 
in but I am not quite sure if there is an easier way than described in either 
Haynes or Clymer repair manuals, both of which have similar but somewhat 
techniques.  Before I tackle this I thought I might ask for advice.
