Mark---Try this...As soon as you stop the motor, try restarting it in a
matter of seconds. The residual heat won't have had time to evaporate
the fuel in the intake, and the engine should start quickly, or at least
the engine should crank. If it doesn't even crank, that could mean that
the starter motor has picked up its normal heat during the drive to the
luau. Starters on their last leg have been known to quit when hot.  

Wrapping pipes and using heat sheilds may work well, but we also know
that there are thousands of TR's without these that do not have this
problem.
