It _was_. I converted to LHD because I initially intended to road race the
car and SCCA only allows RHD on cars that are teched prior to July 1,
1983. So convert to LHD it was!
I know - "what an abomination". Hey, that makes all the real CR RHD TR6's
even more valuable!
Actually, when I started the project, I gave some thought to restoring the
car with PI and everything. But I quickly realized that I would never
recoup the "investment" even if I sold the car over in the UK. So I did
the "smart thing" and built a race car! I've spent several times more than
what I would have spent if I had restored and sold the car... but at least
I've been able to race the car for the last 3 or 4 years. And that was the
big thing for me.
Were I to do it again and if my financial situation had been a bit
different, I might have taken another path, but I'm happy with what I
chose so far.
