Dash lights color?

I've got a 1970 TR6, and recently drove a buddy's TR6.  The lights on
his dash are slightly greenish; mine aren't (white).  Are all years of
TR6's supposed to have green lights, or is it only later cars (his is a
rubber titty variety)?
