I rebuilt my distributor. The problem was that the shaft is worn were the top and bottom bushings are. Even if you replace the bushings there is still a slight wobble, but not as much as there was before! I took it to a machine shop and had the bushings made and installed $20.00. The car ran very well after that. I also replaced the inside wire to the plate. More than likely you will end up with a different distributor model # when you purchase a rebuilt one!
