Recent discussion about cams on the list has caused my mind to wander (it does
that a lot at my age). About 20K miles ago (6 years) I purchased a new (early)
cam for my TR6. I am reluctant to yank a relatively new cam out but now
realize that an S2 cam would be preferable for my needs. Soooooo, would the
roller rocker setup from Goodparts or elsewhere give me any improvement in
performance, other than reduced friction, over my stock rockers? Obviously the
only change that could affect the performance would be the ratio of the roller
rockers from the fulcrum (rocker shaft) to the valve. So would this be a "good
thing" (sorry, lately Martha's not doing too well either)? Please note, I
realize that a new S2 type cam would be cheaper than a new set of roller
rockers but in defense of this question the roller rockers would be a lot
easier to install.
