I use Accel Super Stock 8mm wires (#4061)with NGK platinum plugs (BPR6EVX).
The parts guy looked in his info and said both part numbers were
manufacturer specified for TR6. I have Crane model 700 electronic ignition
and Lucas Sport Coil.

The Brits seem to think that for a Fast Road upgrade its important to
re-curve the stock Lucas distributor through a kit that has different
springs and weights you can try. Thoughts? Degree of knowledge required
for this job?

Other known engine mods to my car include header & sport exhaust (previous
owner), K&Ns, different cam and engine re-build(by unknown previous owner),
and SU HS6s coming this summer. Compression and oil pressure indicate a
healthy but not fresh engine.

92 Octane unleaded (Shell Optimax Gold)is the best in my area. Timing
retardation to completely eliminate pinging robs performance and gives 500
rpm idle. The local mechanic retarded timing to 10 degrees ATDC which still
produced pinging. I'm thinking about setting timing advance to give 700-850
idle, providing pinging is only at less than cruising speeds. Advice?

Thanking you in Advance as I guess I really have several questions.
