Subject: Rear Camber Adjustment
| While I await my new axels, I decided perhaps I should adjust the rear
| camber, which means ordering / installing new brackets. After installing
my
| new springs the ride height is better (lower now, [I 86d the disintegrated
| alum packing piece]), but the rear camber has significantly decreased. I
| measured a negative 2.2 degrees on the driver side and negative 2 degrees
on
| the right side.
|
| My question is: what is acceptable or appropriate camber for a stock
street
| car? Should I order new Trailing arm brackets using the rear camber
| adjustment guide in the Moss catalog as my guide, or should I consider
| replacing the packing piece.
Keith,
I've been playing with the rear camber on my TR6. As to the packing pieces,
I estimate an 1/2" packing piece will raise the height about 3/4 inches and
increase the camber about 3/4 degrees. The spec for camber is -1/4 degree
to +1 degree with no load.
If you want the lower height then you have to reconfigure the brackets.
