I am in the process of cleaning up my head in preparation for milling. I
have used my die grinder to smooth out the sharp angles in the combustion
chamber and am now looking at port matching.
The reference book that I am using is David Vizard's "Tuning Standard
Triumphs". In it David suggests using the intake/ exhaust gasket as a
template for port matching. However, when I laid the gasket onto the head,
I noticed that some of the exhaust ports are already larger than the gasket.
Now, for a stupid question. Do I just leave well enough alone, or do I
enlarge the gasket to match the size of the ports in the head?
Thanks for you input.
