Distributor Orientation

List,
I recently had reason to detach my spark plug wires, and in going to put them 
back, I whipped out an old picture of the engine prior to the car's 3 year 
restoration.  To my surprise, the plug wires on the distributor end, are 
directly opposite to their orientation in the picture!  Now, bear in mind, 
that when I first got the car, I got it running before I started the 
restoration, and now it runs as well.  What do you guys think?
