Jim,

The brass looking plug is really plastic with a thin brass cover. The plug
can be pried out with a wide bladed screwdriver. The plug is sealed with an
O ring that is probably the culprit. You should web able to pick up a
substitute at any good hardware store. I'd get a correct O ring the next
time you order parts.

Subject: carb leak

| Hello listers,
| I just finished putting on a new Falcon stainless exhaust system and a
| pair of carbs that looked in minty condition. Exhaust system is on and
| for a novice I highly recommend the amateur install. It bolted up nice
| and neat, especially with the TRF hardware kit. Question - one of my ZS
| carbs (late model 3771) leaks severely out the brass plug at the bottom
| of the carb. The plug spins pretty easily so I guess this is why it is
| leaking. Is this something that looks to be an easy fix (gasket etc.)??
|
| Thanks in advance
