cylinder head math

Hi all,
when the cylinder head is milled down to increase compression , should the 
pushrods be shortened the same amount to keep the geometry ? Does anybody 
know of a good book regarding cylinder head work ? Most of them are vague 
when it comes to rocker geometry.
