Joe-Yes, you can remove excessive end play without disassembling and replacing the collapsible spacer. Just make sure that the end play is not reduced below the.002"-.004" spec. If this happens, then the spacer will have to be replaced, as loosening the adjustment will not restore the end play. The end play is not controlled by the nut on the outside of the hub, but by the bearing adjustment nut. It is shown on page 213 #21 in TRF's big blue catalog. Berry |
