Here is the rundown on what I did:
* The new clutch kit was ordered from Clutchmasters.com ($150). It
contained a Sachs pressure plate, Borg&Beck friction disc and a new throwout
bearing.
* I had the flywheel "turned" ($20) and installed a new "pilot-bush"
or "spigot-bush".
* I ordered a new throwout bearing sleeve from Moss.
* I installed the TOB on the sleeve by placing the sleeve in liquid
nitrogen and just dropping the bearing right on it. I didn't want to press
the bearing on for fear of doing damage.
* I replaced the clutch cross-shaft, fork and bushes.
* I drilled a 5/16 hole through the fork and shaft and secured it with
a grade #8 bolt with a nyloc nut. I installed the taper pin just snug with
the retaining wire.
* I used the longer cross-shaft bushes to add stability.
* I then assembled everything using Molykote grease.
* While I was in there I cleaned the tranny again (I did a rebuild on
it two years ago) painted the engine backplate and starter.
* Now while the car gods are with me, I plan on installing an
electronic ignition and rebuild the carbs!
Thanks to all on the list for your great advice.
