Hi,
As part of the continuing saga of my MK1 restoration...
Have any of you ever used the company Just Dashes Inc?
Since it seems impossible to locate a LHD NOS dash pad
for a MK1, I'm considering using their services to
have a new one fabricated.
There appears to be one potential difficulty with this
relating specificly to the 2000. The dash pad on these
cars is glued/bolted up to a steel frame that is welded
to the body proper. Due to this Just Dashes won't have
a frame to lay their foam onto.
Any comments/suggestions relating to this, including
how one may make a positive casting of the underlying
dash sheetmetal, are welcome. Of course if you've
got a _badly_ damaged shell you wouldn't mind cutting
the sheetmetal out of, this would help too.
Also, just out of curiosity, would anyone else be
interested in a reproduction LHD dash pad? I don't
know how much of the (yet unspecified) price is
for one time costs vs. per piece costs.
