My new wire harness has a "black with blue" tracer for the rear trunk area. Is that correct? I thought they were all "black with yellow". No?
Mark
Mark,
No. Actually black with blue tracer was on the main harness of the earlier BN2. The boot area on a BN2 I believe should be solid black.
FWIW, the tracer colour and pattern was unique to each edition and change made to the harnesses from the eaeliest cars. For instance an early BN1 was solid black throughout. As soon as a change was introduced, a tracer colour was introduced into that portion of the harness. The pattern of the boot harness was unchanged through the life of the Hundred, therefore that portion remained solid black.
We had been putting up with a "token" yellow tracer on harnesses for many years. Today we can get the correct harness and tracer colours from most of the better suppliers.

Thanks Rich for your reply, I probably should have mentioned that I have a BT7. My harness came from from British Wiring and I assume they know what their doing since so many seem to recommend them. Should the harness still be black? Mark
Mark,
We would have to know your chassis number to zero in on the actual features, therefore the wiring loom tracer colours of your main harness.
However, your original question was regarding the loom in the trunk. There you will have the last couple of feet of the main chassis harness (front to back of the car) coming in through the trunk bulkhead. This should be black with a single row of yellow tracer threads on the BT7 and blue threads on the BN7 because of the differing positions of the battery cutoff switch. This is turn will plug into the rear harness going across the back of the boot area which apparently should be plain black.
