This is a report on the Big Healey video, which covers a restoration of a 3000 Mk III done by the Northern Healey Centre in West Yorkshire, UK.
The video was designed for a general audience, not for Healey fanatics, but gives a good description of a Healey restoration from a rusty hulk sitting in a rainy field to a Concours winner and possibly 'best Healey'. It is not a how-to video, but I found many of the scenes useful and informative. When I got it, I put it in the VCR (to make sure that it was a VHS tape, not whatever the European format is called) intending to just make sure it worked. Eighty some minutes later it was finished and I turned it off. So I guess you could say that I found it interesting ;-)
From a hands-on restorer's point of view, there is a lot of information that I wished were on the video, but which probably ended on the cutting room floor. Since the video was designed to be shown to general audiences there is more "sizzle" and less "steak" than enthusiasts might like, but I think anyone who isn't already completely saturated with Healey lore would find it interesting, too. I got down to frame-by-frame inspection of one spot that revealed a bit of how the Northern Healey Centre coped with sealing the front edge of a rocker panel.
The video tape cost me 21 UK pounds, including airmail shipping. I am happy with it.
