Subject: Re: [Zmagnette] Oil pipe<br>

<div><font color="black" face="arial">
<div>Arch, my oil line was cobbled together from various bits by the PO. I looked at it one day just before taking the car out and thought, "I really need to fix that". Sure enough, it blew off going down the interstate, spewing oil all over the hot exhaust resulting in clouds of smoke that brought visibility to near zero behind me.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I ended up replacing the whole thing. If I recall, the line from the gauge to the OE rubber flex hose was steel, I unsoldered the ends and replaced it using 1/8" copper. I mounted a spare oil pressure switch from an MGB, the one used for the anti-run-on valve, on the firewall, then landed the cooper pipe on it. I used two MGB flex oil lines coupled together to make one line long enough to go from the block to the switch.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>It's worked fine for years. Plus, if I ever get around to it, I have the oil pressure switch available to wire up a buzzer to let me know if I lose oil pressure.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I can take a pic of the firewall rig if you like.</div>

broken) for the oil line to gauge. I want to put the copper or metal pipe in.
One from an MGA was given to me. What do I need to do to connect this all up. I
believe I need the flex hose and connector as in the MGA but I am not sure of
the fittings on each end. Will I need any adapters on either or both ends? Any
and all help is always appreciated. Thank you in advance.
