<DIV>Wow, that's great in the first place, that he is pursuing this wonderful
trade. Congratulations to you, and to your son.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Such an awesome offer. I purchased, at great expense, that socket you
are talking about. Never used it. If he could use it for guidance,
I'd be glad to loan it to him. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>As to other ideas, I have none to offer at the moment, but as soon as your
son gets booked up, I know I'll think of something.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Thanks for thinking up a great offer, though!</DIV>

projects</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>My son is in college in a two year program to become a
machinist. It <BR>seems that he needs some proposals for projects he can
do there. As <BR>the one paying the tuition, I get to suggest something
that would be <BR>of use to me and my MGs. One thought I had was to make
a nice socket <BR>for the octagon shaped rear axle nut. Does anyone else
have any <BR>ideas for any cool stuff I could suggest? There's no
guarantee that <BR>he will do it, as the project would have to fit in with the
goals of <BR>the course work. So, what would you guys do if you had a
machinist <BR>at your disposal? Note that this is not an automotive
machinist <BR>program, so they are not set up for operations on engine blocks,
<BR>crankshafts, etc.<BR><BR>-Steve
