As near as I can tell from my readings, the body number had significance to the Pressed Steel body plant, probably to track batches of bodies before they were despached to Abingdon for final assembly and the assignment of a chassis/car number. The body number of my Magnette is 29738, chassis number KAA41/35361 and a build date of 14 October through 17 October 1958. We can say yes, no, or leave it up to the members. Granted that NAMGAR does the registration aspects of ZMG, but on occasion it might be handy and/or fun to have our own casual records. Maybe, for example, we'll discover we have some sequentially-related cars. More seriously, we may discover some subtle mid-model changes that affect technical concerns. I'll propose that each of us can pursue this at his/her option, unless Mike finds a glitch in being able to include this in the data. It would be neat to be able to search our cars by chassis number.
