Replaced the cable and problem solved. My guess was the cable was binding and putting too much drag on the angle drive causing it to fail.</p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The end piece that you can’t find will not harm the transmission but you need to find it before you try to install another angle drive. Maybe a small magnet or a small pick would help. Other wise remove the speedo drive from the transmission ; you should be able to do this from under the car by removing the keeper bolt and working the drive out with some large plyers. You might need to replace the speedo drive if you can’t find or remove the broken piece.</p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The reverse issue “might” be repaired from inside the car if the issue is external. You’d need to remove the dash support and tunnel cover to get to the lever ball and socket. There is a small spring and plug in the lever end which may have worn out or fallen out. I assume you are lifting the lever before you slide it over for reverse however. Also there may be and issue internally with the top cover but you can remove the top cover without removing the transmission.
