Pete,
What a great idea for your Father! I'm planning on bringing a 1968 Triumph motorcycle. I could take back roads from Beaver Falls, although I would rather avoid the heavy traffic when I get closer. Some of the young girls tailgating me while they're texting their boyfriends makes me nervous. Bud Osbourne offered for me to leave a trailer at his house, but somewhere slightly closer, and back roads might be nice. Do you, or any other members, have any ideas?

My father, Jack Sutherland, was a long time member of the WPTA, and those who remember him may be aware that in his younger days used to race a TR3 in SCCA competitions in Connecticut and Southern California in the 60's (I still have his competition license signed by Kas Kastner!).

You haven't seen him in several years as in his advanced age (he's 91)  he's developed a condition known as Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a predominant symptom of which is dementia.

He's currently in the memory care unit at Friendship Village, which is on Boyce road in Upper St. Clair.  And while he's lost quite a bit of his memory, he still loves Triumphs and gets a real kick out of seeing his TR3 when I drive it over for a visit.

I'm reaching out (on his email account) to let folks know that Friendship Village, where he lives now, is having its 1st Annual Charity Car Cruise on Saturday, September 19th at 10:00AM.  So if anyone is looking for a reason to get their Triumph out that weekend for a drive, I hope you keep this in mind as I know he'd be delighted to see some British iron.
