Hi Chuck
We are going to look at another Spit on Saturday you are more than welcome to come and join the fun. I talked to Bruce and he thinks that that water choke is the issue and leaking fuel back in so the bar thing to do is take it off and get it Bruce to rebuild it. If anybody else what to join in my address is7111 Country Club Road Butler Pa 16001 Don Harkus 724-822-5447

Subject: [WPTA] 1979 Spitfire Carb Adjustment Hello All,
My 1979 Spitfire is running very rich (to the point of black smoke coming out of exhaust). I attempted to adjust the carburetor needle valve by starting with the needle valve all the way out and turning using the Allen key adjustment tool to turn 1/4 turn at a time. This had no effect. Using a screwdriver to lift the carb piston still resulted in the engine rpm increasing. I started over in the full rich position and turned the Allen key 3 turns to the lean position. This had no effect. Any suggestions?
Much appreciated, Chuck Kuhn_______________________________________________
