Club Member Pete Hutchinson is again hosting the Lake Haven International Car Show May 18 located on Scenic Drive in Murrysville. Last year several East members were in attendance with their British cars mixing it up with the Italians, German, American and many others. The Wild Willie Run will be held on 5/4/25.

Since it's a Sunday run the start time is 1 o'clock.

This is a fun run (about 50 miles) Rally style, picture stops, and poker run.

The start of the run is at Bi-Lo gas station at Rt. 19 (226 Perry Highway), Harmony.

This run is set as a nice Sunday drive with stops at various locations (lakes and waterfalls) with the final destination being in Mercer, Pa.

So, bring yourself and a friend for a relaxing country drive and fun.

Wild Willie Run

This is an update on the Wild Willie Run schedule for May 4th .

Due to the possibility of more storms coming into the area along with some of our members still without power from the storms this week.

I feel that it would not be safe or pleasant to have the run at this time all things considered.

So, the run will be postponed and rescheduled for June 28, which is a Saturday.

Thanks for all the positive feedback that has been given about this run, and I look forward to the new date.

Got back a little earlier, this afternoon, from doing the final route check.
I'm delighted to report that the roads are in shockingly good condition and
not a trace of chips/gravel anywhere to be found.  This, combined with a
great weather forecast, makes Saturday the 10th a perfect time to come out
and enjoy the Washington County Tour (Revival).

 

With two different routes to select from; the Driver's Route of 79.5 miles
and the Scenery Studying Route of 41.05 miles, you can drive at a
comfortable pace and still arrive at The Bullpen Sports Bar for cold drinks
and good bar food at close to the same time as the others.

We will meet at Cindy & Bud Osbourne's front field at 1 PM.  Grab lunch
BEFORE you get to Cindy & Bud's as no food will be available, there and
bathroom facilities are somewhat restricted (septic system, you know).  But,
for the guys, we have plenty of trees & bushes to water!

 

See you on Saturday!

I was wondering if anyone may have a right rear fender for a TR2/TR3.
Looking for something that doesn't need too much repair. Could also use a
set of front fender repair panels if you might have some that you didn't
use.

Appreciate any help you may be able to provide. The TR2 long door has been
stripped and in the body shop and sorting out what to repair or replace!

I attempted to adjust the carburetor needle valve by starting with the needle valve all the way out and turning using the Allen key adjustment tool to turn 1/4 turn at a time.? This had no effect.? Using a screwdriver to lift the carb piston still resulted in the engine rpm increasing.? I started over in the full rich position and turned the Allen key 3 turns to the lean position.? This had no effect.? Any suggestions?

Are you certain the choke is fully released. That of course will cause a rich condition.
I'd be looking there for an issue.

I'm evaluating the timing chain on my TR6 powered TVR as I work through changing the front crankshaft seal. I found that the scribed lines and punch marks are not aligning after turning the crankshaft clockwise to the TDC position. It appears that the camshaft is off, retarded by one tooth. Though easy to resolve at this stage, I have to wonder whether it jumped a tooth on its own, or was put together incorrectly by a previous owner. My double row timing chain has +/_ 3/8" slack at mid span on the tensioner side, which does not seem to be extreme. Has anyone known one of these to jump time on its own? Any guidance will be welcomed. Thanks

I personally have never heard of a timing chain jumping a tooth. If that occurred, most likely, there would be damage on one of the gears or the chain. Most likely it was installed incorrectly.

Hi Andy!

What is the reason for the transmission rebuild, in the first place?  If the gears are good and the syncro action was good, then there is no reason to replace the syncros.  However, if there is any doubt, I?d go ahead and replace them.

Hi Andy,

I don't know what type of box you have, but several years ago on Classic
Mini DIY the presenter did a 3 synchro rebuild which was pretty complex.  I
had mine rebuilt at Boffo Motors some years ago and had steel synchros
installed which are supposed to be more robust than stock.  Wish I could be
some help.  Good luck with the rebuild.

Yep, the beauty of the DCOE series is they are basically infinitely 
adjustable.  The downfall of the carbs is they are basically infinitely 
adjustable.
