The only thing different, between this one and a ’68 is that this one doesn’t have a dipstick hole & dipstick, for checking oil level. So, just like on the ’77 thru ’80 models that came with this transmission, you have to put it on a lift, or at least get it up on jack stands, to check transmission oil level. Not a big deal, really.

Also, I have several 4 syncro, non OD gearboxes available for parts, if needed.

This brought back memories. I got the LH OD for my MG at Carlisle for $225. Of course that was 30+ years ago ! Pulled it apart and put in new bearings and a shift fork. I did find one bad synchronizer which is probably why the guy said he didn't know anything about it. One good thing is the actual transmission itself is the same as a non-syncro with the exception of the mainshaft. So if anything is messed up in there, the regular 4 speeds are dime a dozen. I would go through it before going to the trouble of installation but that's me.

I don't know if it would work but by copying Bud you should get a good recommendation. I think asking Ed Woods would help too.

That’s a good price and it looks to be intact. Other than the wiring grommet, for the OD solenoid, being out of place, it’s probably just fine.
