Run to The Roadster Factory by Gary Fredo

The annual run to The Roadster Factory is scheduled for November 4th this year.  Everyone should get busy and figure out what winter projects they have lined up so they can order the needed parts from The Roadster Factory.  As in the past we will meet at Dean?s Diner 2175 US-22 Blairsville, Pa 15717 at 9:00 for anyone that wants breakfast.  We will depart for the Roadster Factory around 10:00 and expect to arrive at the Roadster Factory at 10:30.

Albert is going to give us 20% off non-sale items for any advance orders picked up that day.  Be sure to place orders in advance so you can get the 20% discount.  Call 800-2341104 between 9:00 ? 6:00 Monday through Friday to order your parts in advance.  Or you can order online and get the discount by referencing the WPTA run in the comments section of the order sheet.  The Roadster Factory is located at Killen Road, Armagh, Pa 15920 for anyone going directly there.

For those that didn?t get enough to eat at Dean?s we will be heading to Griffi th?s 11710 PA Route 56, Armagh, Pa 15920 for lunch after visiting The Roadster Factory.  Griffi th?s is just off Rt 22 on Rt 56.  We usually get a nice sized group that goes to Griffi th?s after the tour.  Probably because they have great food, cold beer and the prices are reasonable.

While TR6 engine is out I?m attempting to clean and refurb engine compartment. 
There are three small areas that need more than a good cleaning where the original paint/metal is rusty. Battery shelf, under master cylinders and lower driver side inner fender. 
Thinking of treating with Eastwood rust encapsulator then top coat with as close to original color as possible. 
I see some online retailers offering small aerosol cans to match original triumph French blue. One is paintscratch.com. 
Does anyone have experience with ordering this type of paint and/or have any suggestions?

Are many people driving their British or import cars on Saturday? I know it
will be cool weather but don't know if the salt trucks got anxious and
dropped anything in our latest dusting (ha ha).

I think we all agree that we're tired of the noise, from the DJ.  So, we
have three options:

 

1.	Move Beer & Bull to the third Monday.  Down side is we'd lose
Jillian, as our waitress and she always does a great job for us.  The up
side is that Alexa would be our waitress and I'm sure she would equal
Jillian's performance.

 

2.	Move Beer & Bull to the third Wednesday.  Down side is, again, that
we'd lose Jillian as our waitress and Alexa doesn't work there, on
Wednesdays.  Our waiter would be a young man, who's name escapes me.  Since
Wednesday is a fairly slow night, at McClelland's, I'm sure the young man
could keep us supplied with beer.

 

3.	Find a different bar.  The down side of this idea is that I don't
have a place in mind, at present and it would take some scouting around,
before I could find a place that offers good service, good "bar food" and
good prices.

 

 

So, there you have it.  Please let me know what you would prefer that I do.
I suppose we could try Monday & Wednesday, at McClelland's, on successive
months.

 I agree 100% that we need to do something.? The noise is way to loud for us to be able to participate in the Bull portion of the Beer & Bull.
Yes Jullian does a great job and I really enjoy "taco tuesday" night.? But as long as I have been going there I don't remember having bad wait service and there certainly are other selections on the menu besides tacos.? So my vote would be that we stay with McCelland's.? The side room is also a bonus to staying there.? It's really hard to find places with semi-private rooms that don't want to change for the use of the room.
So my vote would be for the third Monday.? The third Wednesday would somewhat interfere with the North breakfast which is also the third Wednesday.? That would be a lot of food to consume in one day.? I'm probably the only one that attend both events so if the third Wednesday wins then I'll figure something out.

Well, here?s the latest on the subject:

 

Cindy and I went to McClelland?s, last night and spoke with Jeff (manager) about our concerns.  Here is what we worked out:

 

1.	Jeff spoke with the DJ guy, who created the problem at our last meeting and that guy (the one in the orange hoodie) will not be there, this month.
2.	Mondays don?t work, for McClellands, due to  kitchen staffing, on that day.
3.	Jeff will make the third Wednesday a ?wing night?, for us and will reduce the wing price, accordingly.  Wednesday is normally $7.00 burger night, but, since they have somewhat limited grill space, Jeff is afraid they wouldn?t be able to get that many hamburger orders out in a timely manner.  So, wings it is (which is the way we had it, originally, back when we started meeting there).
4.	HOWEVER, due to ?other considerations? (primarily, Thanksgiving being on the 23rd), we will STILL meet for Beer & Bull, THIS MONTH< ONLY, on Tuesday, November 21, at 5:15 PM.
5.	Starting Wednesday, December 20th, at 6 PM, Beer & Bull will be moved to the third Wednesday of each month.  Tom will be our waiter/bar tender and, I can tell you that he does a great job and really HUSTLES.  So, no worries.

 

ALSO, since Wednesday, the 21st will be GIllian?s last night of taking care of us, we thought we?d add a little extra for her.  Cindy will have A GIFT BOX for a generous, bonus tip for her help in past years in addition to her regular tip, that you guys can chip in for, if you like.

 

See you on the 21st at 5:15!

Yes Jullian does a great job and I really enjoy "taco tuesday" night.  But as long as I have been going there I don't remember having bad wait service and there certainly are other selections on the menu besides tacos.  So my vote would be that we stay with McCelland's.  The side room is also a bonus to staying there.  It's really hard to find places with semi-private rooms that don't want to change for the use of the room.

Yes folks, it is that time of the year when I reach into your pockets for your membership dues.

PLEASE make checks/mo. payable to ?WPTA? in the amount of $35 (see Bruce?s article). Payment for multiple years is very good.

Do Not send CASH!   So, make it a point to get it in the mail today.

All dues must be paid no later than March 1, 2023. If you do have a question or comment, give me a call at (412) 780-8495.

This is truly somber news. Russell became a good friend despite only
meeting a couple years ago. He was kind enough to offer his car of the
moment for a test drive and always offered good advice where he had
experience to lend. He was so solid, it was difficult to tell the pain he
must have suffered and seemed upbeat every time I met him this year.

His family and friends have lost him too early.

We'll meet tomorrow evening, at 5:15, at the usual location, for our final
Tuesday evening Beer & Bull.

 

Remember that it will also be our final time with our girl, Gillian, as our
waitress/bartender and we're planning to present her with a "going away
tip", separate from the usual tip we leave her.  She's done a great job,
over the past few years, of keeping the beer coming and getting our food
orders right; all with a happy smile and sweet demeanor.  Not easy to do,
serving a bunch of "old guys" who tend to forget what they've ordered, or
not hear "who ordered....?"  So, it's time to show how much we appreciate
her efforts, on our behalf.

 

See yinz tomorrow evening!

I'm getting ready to sell the 1965 Daimler, V8 2.5L, manual RHD. Where is the best place to sell that type of car?  BAT said, "no thanks".  She is a project car.
