[WPTA] Wheel question

Another option is Allegheny Metal Finishing (AMF) in Imperial PA (relatively close to the Pittsburgh Airport).
I believe they have a wheel balancing machine as well.
So you could take them your current wheels / tires and your new tires and you would get powder-coated wheels back with your new tires mounted / balanced.

Barry,

I had my original TR6 wheels chemically cleaned and derusted at MEC in Nanty Glo, then epoxy primed and painted. I installed them w/o the beauty rings, but with the red hubcaps. Stripping was $35/wheel at that time. Superior to blasting: no sand in the crevices.

Hello,
Enjoyed meeting some of you at the tune-up clinic.
Need some advice.
My TR6 has steel wheels and old croaker red lines. I’ve ordered new tires but I’m undecided what to do with wheels. What you see of the wheels isn’t terrible. The insides are rusty. Got one quote for sandblasting and powder coating at $140 per wheel. Could purchase new mini lite type alloy wheels, clean up the wheels and paint myself or do nothing.
What would you do?
Barry
