Join us Saturday, June 4 for a run to Generations Restaurant & Pub located on Route 40 in Wheeling WV.  Your choice of routes -- three tours ? no waiting!

Everyone will begin at Denny?s Restaurant on Route 40 in Washington, very near the I-70 interchange.  Those choosing the long tour will leave at 10:15, mid-range cars leave at 10:30, and those on the short tour will head out at 10:45.  I expect all three groups will arrive at Generations Pub for lunch between 12:30 and 1:00.

Directions are easy to follow with a minimum of road changes, but there will still be plenty of twists and turns.  In fact, the long tour takes US 250 from the town of Hundred to VW Route 88.  It?s a twisting 33.2 mile stretch which ends up covering less than 22 miles as the crow flies!  See you at Denny?s June 4.

This year, Dan DelBianco (Director of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix) has extended an offer that friends of WPTA and its British Car Day could have first crack at participating in the Sunday Morning Parade Lap. After the lap is over, drivers would then be able to return to the show field if they desire. Through the 15th of June, we will have exclusive access to the registration site, linked immediately below. After that, it will be more broadly publicized.

Dan also would like to share with the WPTA constituancy that the Kastner Cup Committee requested to have the Friends of Triumph take charity laps at Pitt Race at lunchtime on Saturday, July 16 (before the actual Kastner Cup race at 1:15).

All British sports cars from 1983 and earlier are eligible. The price for that lap is $50 - see link below.

If you?re looking for a challenging run, meet me in the parking lot at Walgreens in Toronto, OH, 1820 Franklin Street. It is located at the east end of a small shopping center that has an Amoco gas station, a McDonald?s, a Reisbeck?s Grocery store, and a Subway; which all provide places of ?relief.?

This run will provide you with plenty of turns, a bunch of hills and a lot of bumps. It traversed almost entirely through the back two-lane country roads of Jefferson County. It will challenge your sport car?s suspension system and quite possibly your back. It ends some 73 miles later at a fantastic restaurant called, Dee Jay?s BBQ and Ribs Grill, 380 Three Springs Drive, in Weirton, WV; just off US 22 East. So, after you dine it will be an easy shot to return to PA.

Hope to see you on Saturday, June 18th. Driver?s meeting at 10:15 AM and ?rst car out at 10:30 AM. Any questions call me at; (740) 632-3321.

The Kastner Cup is getting close and here is some information I acquired which may benefit Triumph Owner?s who are planning on attending and will be driving their Triumphs. The WPTA and the FOT are working with the Kastner Cup to provide help with Triumph Parking and with the Kastner Cup Hospitality Tent. Triumph Parking will be in Lots 4B and 4C next to the Hospitality Tent and there are supposed to be signs and parking attendants to direct you to the proper location. Attached below is a map showing the parking locations
The TWOA has donated funds to help sponsor this race. This part of what the TWOA member dues help fund when you join the TWOA.

The PVGP does charge an entrance fee of $20.00. Parking for Triumphs at the Hospitality Tent location does not require and extra fee as some VIP lots do

The Kastner Cup is getting close and here is some information I acquired which may benefit Triumph Owner?s who are planning on attending and will be driving their Triumphs. The WPTA and the FOT are working with the Kastner Cup to provide help with Triumph Parking and with the Kastner Cup Hospitality Tent. Triumph Parking will be in Lots 4B and 4C next to the Hospitality Tent and there are supposed to be signs and parking attendants to direct you to the proper location. Attached below is a map showing the parking locations
The TWOA has donated funds to help sponsor this race. This part of what the TWOA member dues help fund when you join the TWOA.

The PVGP does charge an entrance fee of $20.00. Parking for Triumphs at the Hospitality Tent location does not require and extra fee as some VIP lots do

I should have been more concise with my response. In a phone conversation with Curt Johnson he specifically told me that the Triumph parking would be in area 4B or 4C.  We need several people to work the parking area from 8 AM to 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday.  If anyone is interested in helping, let me know. I will have an article in the July newsletter with more details.

The Kastner Cup is getting close and here is some information I acquired which may benefit Triumph Owner?s who are planning on attending and will be driving their Triumphs. The WPTA and the FOT are working with the Kastner Cup to provide help with Triumph Parking and with the Kastner Cup Hospitality Tent. Triumph Parking will be in Lots 4B and 4C next to the Hospitality Tent and there are supposed to be signs and parking attendants to direct you to the proper location. Attached below is a map showing the parking locations
The TWOA has donated funds to help sponsor this race. This part of what the TWOA member dues help fund when you join the TWOA.

The PVGP does charge an entrance fee of $20.00. Parking for Triumphs at the Hospitality Tent location does not require and extra fee as some VIP lots do

Over the years, the WPTA has been intimately involved in the Kastner Cup and the festivities surrounding the ?Cup?.



This year, Dan DelBianco (Director of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix) has extended an offer that friends of WPTA and its British Car Day could have first crack at participating in the Sunday

Morning Parade Lap.



After the lap is over, drivers would then be able to return to the show field if they desire. Through the 15th of June, we will have exclusive access to the registration site, linked

immediately below. After that, it will be more broadly publicized.

Speedometer cable broke, actually the angle speedometer cable connection to the transmission broke. Installed a new one today speedometer worked for about 50 miles and then it broke again. Anyone have any experience with this and know what might be causing it to break.??

The one I got from the roadster factory we put in and as I said it only lasted 50 miles. But when we took the old one out looks like an original the end of the cable was broken off that goes into the transmission. Couldn?t find that broken off piece

I am not very familiar with these transmissions

 What affect would it have on the operation of the transmission with that broken piece?

I have been having some problems getting into reverse

the shift lever won?t slide over and back the way it used to. Well any thoughts would be appreciated I really don?t want to tear the transmission out.

Speedometer cable broke, actually the angle speedometer cable connection to the transmission broke. Installed a new one today speedometer worked for about 50 miles and then it broke again. Anyone have any experience with this and know what might be causing it to break.??
