Hello everyone!

Please let me know where you are willing to volunteer a few hours on Saturday - we have plenty of opportunities at the moment!

- Gate Registration (9-noon) 3-4 people : receive payment, classify, assign numbers, and record day-of entrants
- Gate Flaggers (9-noon) 3-4 people : ensure the flow of pre-registrants and other PVGP show attendees, keep gate registrants orderly and enter the flow with others
- Goodie Bag Tent (9-noon) 2 people : provide entrants with their voting ballot and other ephemera before entering the show field
- Field Flaggers (9-noon) 6 people : direct vehicles to the appropriate class, and ensure they are parked well
- Ballot Counters (noon-3) 4-6 people : record votes as they come in, so we are on schedule for the 3:30 awards presentation 

If we can get the people, I?ll operate two shifts (9a-10:30/10:30-noon), so as to not overwhelm anyone in case the weather is stifling. 

We?ll break down the field, collect the PVGP tables and chairs, and pack up the tents after 4pm, so any help there is greatly appreciated, as well.

 I want to clarify the bullet below regarding Ballot Counters.? I need at least 4 people, but 6 would be much better, to count ballots on BCD.? We will have two shifts.? First shift will be from 12:00 (noon) until 1:30.? The second shift will be from 1:30 until 3:00.? So an hour and a half for each shift.? That will minimize the amount of time the ballot counters have to be away from looking at cars, BSing with friends and drinking their favorite beverages.? As an added bonus, the ballot counting occurs under the big tent that is under the trees.? So you will have protection from the weather regardless of the conditions.? The job primarily consists of simply typing the numbers that are on the ballots into a spreadsheet and hitting enter on the computer.? The program does the rest.
I already have two volunteers (thanks Barry & Curt) so I just need 4 more volunteers to step forward.

Please let me know where you are willing to volunteer a few hours on Saturday - we have plenty of opportunities at the moment!

- Gate Registration (9-noon) 3-4 people : receive payment, classify, assign numbers, and record day-of entrants
- Gate Flaggers (9-noon) 3-4 people : ensure the flow of pre-registrants and other PVGP show attendees, keep gate registrants orderly and enter the flow with others
- Goodie Bag Tent (9-noon) 2 people : provide entrants with their voting ballot and other ephemera before entering the show field
- Field Flaggers (9-noon) 6 people : direct vehicles to the appropriate class, and ensure they are parked well
- Ballot Counters (noon-3) 4-6 people : record votes as they come in, so we are on schedule for the 3:30 awards presentation 

If we can get the people, I?ll operate two shifts (9a-10:30/10:30-noon), so as to not overwhelm anyone in case the weather is stifling. 

We?ll break down the field, collect the PVGP tables and chairs, and pack up the tents after 4pm, so any help there is greatly appreciated, as well.

Dan DelBianco set us up with a Triumph parade lap at Pitt Race during the
Kastner Cup.
Unfortunately only 3 of us signed up.  Maybe the $50 fee was a bit steep or
maybe the word didn't get around.
Dan has made a couple changes:
1.  The fee is now $40
2.  All British sports cars built before 1983 are now eligible.
The lap will be at noon on Saturday before the Kastner Cup race.

So, get on the PVGP site and sign up.  If you insist you can pay when we
line up on Saturday.
You will need to print your receipt and show it when we line up.

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Historics at Pittsburgh
International Race Complex.  We hope you will have a safe and enjoyable
weekend.  Thank you for your support of our charites.
A few reminders:
?       DRIVERS MEETING:   A mandatory drivers meeting is scheduled for
Friday morning on the first floor of the Timing and Scoring Tower.  Helmet
stickers will be distributed to access track.
7:45 AM Mandatory Drivers Meeting for Ground Pounders/Large Bore, Formula
Ford and Medium Bore
8:15 AM  Mandatory Drivers Meeting for Small Bore/FV and Modern Historics
BMW is on track at 8:00 and will schedule their own Driver Meeting
separately

?       PITTRACE GATE WAIVER:  Everyone attending the event (Racers, Crew,
Guest & Minors), without exception, MUST complete the Pitt Race Speed
Waiver PRIOR to arrival at the facility (Please forward this to anyone that
will be joining you at the event):

you must have metal or wood under the jack and jack stands. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please bring your helmet, Hans, logbook and driver completed tech form.

?       BLEND LINE:  The blend line at the exit of pit lane is intended to
provide safety for drivers and racecars on course and entering the racing
surface.  Crossing the blend line while on track or when entering the
racecourse will be considered an off?course excursion subject to penalty.

?       FUEL:  Is available at the track - Sunoco Race Fuels in the
following formulations: 100 Octane Unleaded; 110 Octane Leaded; 93 Octane
Unleaded.  Prices per gallon vary with market conditions.  All payment is
?pay at the pump? with a limit of 3 transactions per credit card per day

?       FOOD: Limited concessions are available for lunch and dinner at the
track.  Complimentary Drivers Reception & Dinner and Helltown Beer Saturday
at 5:30 PM at Conference Center for Drivers, Crew and Volunteers
?       HYDRATION:  Please bring plenty of water.  It gets really hot at
the track; everyone must stay hydrated.
?       WORKERS/VOLUNTEERS:    Please remember to thank the workers and
volunteers, and especially the corner workers at the end of your sessions.
Some of them have traveled a great distance to be here this weekend so you
can race.  A little wave at the end of the session does the trick.

The TR6 was fighting with me last week. First the heater valve started leaking. Replaced on Thursday and no leaks. Pulled into garage and noticed a puddle of oil. The oil filter canister started leaking. Managed to use a spin on conversion that came with the car and gaskets/seals sourced from NAPA but leaking a little. Let is sit till Saturday and all was good. Ran the PVGP kick off Rallye on Sunday with no problems. So I?ll make the run up to Pitt Race on Saturday.

Hello WPTA Members!

Thank you to all who have volunteered so far?attached, please find your assignments.

Friday (5PM at the site for the Main Tent): 
We?ll assess what needs to be done and at what time, and assign resources accordingly. If it is rainy, we should set up the tent first, then assemble the goodie bags under cover. Otherwise, we?ll do it near the Welcome Tent as usual.

Saturday:
9AM:
Gate registration team and Flaggers at the gate entry. The supplies will be there!
Welcome Tent/Goodie bag station personnel - reach out to me if you don?t know where to be.
Field flaggers report to Jim Stoffel for placement.

12noon:
Ballot counters, please be at the Main Tent and Gary will get you situated at a laptop. We?ll likely even have some ballots to count already.

Please be sure to sign up at the PVGP Volunteer tent, too. If it isn?t open Friday evening, you can do it Saturday morning when you get a moment.

We'll be using the Gate F entrance, as usual. We share it with the motorcycle show, Hagerty show, and some others. Please be patient.

We mailed out your windscreen cards last weekend - have them ready to show the flaggers so you can be shuttled more quickly onto the field. If you've registered and didn't receive it, or forgot yours at home, no problem! Park to the side with the Late/Gate folks and our Gate Registration crew will make you a new card.

This same windscreen card grants you access Sunday at the same 9am - noon time frame, assuming you bring a British car.

There will be bagpipers :)

Please get your ballots in by 2:30 so that the votes can be tallied in time for the 3:30 awards presentation.

PLEASE prepare to keep hydrated. The forecast is very warm and sunny.

Understandable given the circumstances.  Thankful the WPTA crew emerged unscathed.  The wind was violent and watching the  news I believe we may have got the brunt of it (Allegheny County).  I was reminded of a similar weather experience at Carlisle many years ago when guys were holding up the aluminum tent poles during a violent thunder storm.  Strangely, I was also sitting in my TR8 during that storm.  Home now, the car in the garage and the sun is out.  Go figure.

More information to the Garage tour at Pat Davis?s on Aug 6.  For those of
you who are going straight to Pat?s arrive between 10:30am and 11:00am for
lunch.

If you are planning to take the run from the Sheetz on the corner of Rt.19
and Ehrman Road leaving time will be 9:30am.  I am still struggling with a
running issue on my TR8 if I am not there by 9:30am you have the directions
in the newsletter article leave without me.
