Hassall via Fot Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2020 7:56 PM To: Friends of Triumph Subject: [Fot] Tee shirt orders Folks, as Marty said, now is the time to think about ordering shirts. The deadline to order will be 30 APR. This is a one-time order opportunity; there will not be an additional run for extras. This year I'm trying a new procedure to make it more straightforward for everyone. Here is a link to a Google Sheet, accessible by everyone to whom this email is addressed. Click the link and enter your data there. If you make a mistake, please call me (540.357.1444) and we'll fix it together. Kastner Cup Tee shirt order link The shirt front can be seen here: Shirt Front These are a good quality shirt so sizes are realistic - i.e an XL size in a low end shirt is a Large in this case. The Ladies shirts are Lady cut, not unisex nor Mens. Ted Schumacher will handle printing and delivery to the track. If you want shirts shipped, please include your shipping address in the spreadsheet (more on that below). This info from Ted: "Order guarantee - we need a credit card to guarantee payment even if track-side pick up. We will not charge the card until time of shipping or pick-up. VISA/MasterCard/Discover or check. PayPal only if buyer calls first so we can walk them through the procedure. PayPal charges to merchant are double what we are charged by VISA, etc." Orders which need to be mailed will be charged shipping. Happy racing, wish I could be there to cheer y'all on. jim -- W4BEA The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Working on the race car- removed the rear scca arches and left a huge void. Found (amazingly in good shape) Round fenders with arches for the sprite. Welded the arches in and redid the rear of the vehicle. All in primer now. Got the front bonnet back. (Not sure which company made it - looks like a little sebring like) Need to fill pin holes and fit the unit.- more aerodynamic and saves weight. Created a fiberglass mold for the dash. - saves weight cut out the guts of the doors- saved weight Changed the steering column out-old style non collapsable one in-save a lot of weight. Removed old rockers in and out that were filled with everything from aluminum foil to gum wrappers. wow- less weight new Rockers. Welding skills becoming borderline excellent. Powder coated calipers. New Sway bar and mount- old mount was shit and couldnt have done much as it was off angle. Removed rear Panhard bar as a semi elliptical sprite doesnt/shouldnt need it.-saves weight. New Motor-almost finished-fucking Covid19 keeping my guide from helping me. New everything on it as well as a little overbore. Aluminum rear engine plate-saves weight. New weber for this motor.= i can have 2 ready to go motors. Rebuilt straight cut close ratio gearbox for sprite.- goes faster all these savings of weight may account to about 100+ lbs. that is equal to about 10 HP in this car. Now for the mini Moke- just about finished. Made new Canvas roof and carpet set and rear tyre cover. Fit exhaust and all the necessary things to get this British Motor Heritage certificate. (received) Looking forward to PVGP as I think Carlisle and Jeff 500 and probably mid ohio will be cancelled. Everyone- stay safe and let me know if you need any help. What a PITA !!! Followed the directions although I had done this long ago. Lossened the window as per instructions but glass got out of the channel, the channel fell down, could not fish it out and took an hour to get all back together. Clips wouldn?t hold the outer waist seal in place, had to resort screws but out of sight. Might have to paint the screw heads black to keep them out of sight Inner waist seal was easier but same problem, the clips would not hold the seal in place, had resort to two sided Gorilla tape. The concourse judges surely won?t miss this. Replacing the door card was the same old problem of getting the pins back in the door and window handle. Lost the pins, made new ones from coat hanger, struggled, finally got them in place now afraid to crank the window or open the door for fear the handles will fall off. Worked about four hours, getting up and down numerous times, I ache all over, my back hurts, legs and thighs, went to bed early. My god, I still have the passinger side to do. I started to just correct some serious oil leaks and shipwrights disease and OMG told over. I dropped the engine and transmission to change some seals, I gave Scott my trans for an over haul and also had the high speed fifth gear installed. It is done and sitting on his counter waiting for me to go and pick it up. He said it looked so nice it was a good advertisement. I pulled the timing cover off the engine to check the timing chain and of course that needed changed. Looked at the cam, yep some wear there, I used plastic gauge on a rod bearing and of course there were just out of spec. Block and crank were sent to the machinist. I ordered new 10.5 pistons 20 thousands over, 258 degree Crower cam, piston bearing are one size over crank can stay standard. While waiting on machine work I converted the DHC bumper to a coupe bumper which eliminated 37 pounds. I also removed the dash to install a new Ranco valve. Saturday?s nice weather allowed me to paint the engine bay and the new rally spoiler. Today I installed the Poly spring seats on the front struts and ran the heads out to the machine shop. Hopefully British Car Day can be held and I am done by then. I ran across a TBI EfI at a great price although that will be next winter. But for now I will just run a 4bbl. -- *Patrick * *1980 TR-8 TPVDV8AT209637* * Western Pennsylvania Triumph Association* *The Wedge Owners Association (TWOA)* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
