[WPTA] Isolation list

I guess I better jump in on this band wagon. Similar to Jay, I checked my battery maintainer to make sure they were still working.
I helped Bud push his MGB GT with a new rotisserie hooked to it around the garage. Also put some miles on his MGA and MGB juggling around a couple times in his shop. But we keep our distance, he was steering and had me pushing. That’s about 6 feet apart.
I stripped down the 250, waiting for some sheet metal to come in.
Tore a round baler apart, tried to turn into a square baler. I guess you know how that worked out.
Went back to a customer’s car,
trying to sort out the electrical, looks like monkey wired it. All the same color and he must of had only 2 foot pieces, splices everywhere. Installing new gauges also and a couple of other things and at that point
I will be done with that project.
Also doing some work at the church.
And then there is my own place.
Windows are waiting for me and taking up valuable space in my garage. That’s reason enough to get them stained and installed.
I guess I have to go over the farm equipment, if it ever drys up it will be ready to cut by the first of June. I have to say I have not seen many movies. Although my son Clay, bought me Ford verses Ferrari, of coarse to watch it I would have to hook up a CD player to my TV.
March on and good luck to everyone!
George

Hello All,
I'm lucky enough to work for a small company that is completely virtual. All of us work from home. That's a blessing for sure, but also presents constant distractions like the Roadster Factory website and the work in progress out in the garage.
I'm in the middle painting the bulkhead/firewall or whatever that shelf-like metal is that the brake and clutch master cylinders, battery, wiper motor and other once-filthy parts are bolted to. Last year I was bleeding my brakes after finishing a complete front brake project on my 76 Spitfire. I was so close! Then I noticed the brake master was leaking. The paint was bad there so I decided to take it down to the metal and paint. It's coming along....
Also replaced a leaking radiator. Turns out the price for a flush, fill and replace the fill collar which was bad at a local radiator shop was more than a new one. Actually got if for free with American Express points on Amazon. I guess the hardest part of that project was removing the new hood lifts I had installed earlier in the year. The rest was much easier than expected. Of course the next project will not be.
I'm also hoping to replace the chrome trim on top of the windshield frame. The PO must have been blind or always in a hurry. Thinking about a thin rubber cover for the roof top pins that fit into the chrome piece atop the frame so it won't scratch the metal when I'm rushing to secure the top too.
Also Larry sent me a link to the nice aluminum engine valences which which are certainly cheaper that on VB. The old ones are, well you know, pitiful. So much to do but this will make a nice visual difference.
I'm so anxious to get the car back together and drive soon.
Thanks and stay healthy.
Kevin

I've been staying fairly busy, as I'm still working ("life-sustaining industry") a couple of days each week and I have 10 acres to maintain/keep up with. So, plenty of non-automotive machinery to maintain & prepare for spring. Also, downed trees to cut up & clear out. Firewood to cut, split and stack. Gardening work is already starting, under the direction of The Spousal Unit.
On the automotive front, I've had both Midgets out, a few times, for 20-50 mile drives. I finally finished building the rotisserie for my MGB-GT restoration project and got the car mounted on it. But, had to set that project aside, yet again and concentrate on preparing Cindy's MGB and my MGA for the driving season.
Cindy's B needs battery box repairs, but access is really difficult unless I remove the rear axle. That isn't going to happen this year (or for the next several), so I figured out another way to skin that cat with a minimal amount of welding. That and a few lesser items and that one will be on the road.
I need to install the new bumpers on my MGA and take another crack at the pesky tappet cover leaks. Then, I will make some changes so that I can run K&N air filters (the stock air filters are a miserable pain in the ass to R&R). Larry Learn installed the new top, back in October, so the MGA will be all set for Import Carlisle.
Speaking of future events, I got a call from Dan Delbianco, yesterday. Dan says PVGP (along with British Car Day and Countryside Tour) is still very much "on" for this year. So, we have something to look forward to, in July.

I replaced my leaky, whiny differential with a Infinity Q45 R200 unit. This turned into a full blown shipwrights disease attack, including but not limited to Good Parts C/V joint rear axles, Keenserts to reinforce the hub mounting studs. Those are holding in Good Parts rear hubs. Finding I still had some money left in went Nylatron trailing arm bushings and the cherry on top was a shortened driveshaft with larger u-joints with the grease fittings in the cup instead oh the center of the thing.
Post script..
My old differential continues to bleed out in the corner of my garage until I get rid of it.
I was hoping to meet more club members at the Mid-Ohio Kas Kastner race this summer but it looks like I may be able to sneak in a new carpet kit with the way things are going!
