I'm in the middle painting the bulkhead/firewall or whatever that shelf-like metal is that the brake and clutch master cylinders, battery, wiper motor and other once-filthy parts are bolted to. Last year I was bleeding my brakes after finishing a complete front brake project on my 76 Spitfire. I was so close! Then I noticed the brake master was leaking. The paint was bad there so I decided to take it down to the metal and paint. It's coming along.... Also replaced a leaking radiator. Turns out the price for a flush, fill and replace the fill collar which was bad at a local radiator shop was more than a new one. Actually got if for free with American Express points on Amazon. I guess the hardest part of that project was removing the new hood lifts I had installed earlier in the year. The rest was much easier than expected. Of course the next project will not be. I'm also hoping to replace the chrome trim on top of the windshield frame. The PO must have been blind or always in a hurry. Thinking about a thin rubber cover for the roof top pins that fit into the chrome piece atop the frame so it won't scratch the metal when I'm rushing to secure the top too. Also Larry sent me a link to the nice aluminum engine valences which which are certainly cheaper that on VB. The old ones are, well you know, pitiful. Similar to Jay, I checked my battery maintainer to make sure they were still working. I helped Bud push his MGB GT with a new rotisserie hooked to it around the garage. Also put some miles on his MGA and MGB juggling around a couple times in his shop. But we keep our distance, he was steering and had me pushing. That?s about 6 feet apart. I stripped down the 250, waiting for some sheet metal to come in. Tore a round baler apart, tried to turn into a square baler. I guess you know how that worked out. Went back to a customer?s car, trying to sort out the electrical, looks like monkey wired it. All the same color and he must of had only 2 foot pieces, splices everywhere. Installing new gauges also and a couple of other things and at that point I will be done with that project. Also doing some work at the church. And then there is my own place. Windows are waiting for me and taking up valuable space in my garage. That?s reason enough to get them stained and installed. I guess I have to go over the farm equipment, if it ever drys up it will be ready to cut by the first of June. I have to say I have not seen many movies. Although my son Clay, bought me Ford verses Ferrari, of coarse to watch it I would have to hook up a CD player to my TV. March on and good luck to everyone! Makes me tired just reading them. TR8 is sleeping on the battery tender but I did have it out last month. It has a broken door lock knob that happened in WG and I have the replacement but doesn't seem too pressing right now. Fixed Laurie's Oven (heating element) Got the pond filter reinstalled Serviced the little John Deere and fixed a crack in the hood. Big one is next up Today installing trailer hitch on the van for bike rack S10 Race Truck has been ready for over a month. Racing cancelled. I'm not looking for much of a season this year. It got engine gone through, new valve springs, New transmission and some rear suspension work. Taking Augie (our Black Lab) for walks with Laurie. Rode my bike on the bike trail for first time in years. Hence the trailer hitch install above. May be doing more with racing cancelled. Time to start cutting grass and soon do the garden. Before this all started, Laurie got me a 55"TV for the garage. I have a laptop and old JVC Stereo hooked to it. The workbench I built last winter has become a bar and the back of the S10 a coffee table. We enjoy spending time out there playing music videos, drinking beer and playing with Augie Hope everyone is staying healthy and avoiding contacts as much as possible. Laurie has been doing only what she has to do and is the gatherer. Jim -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It did say something about an equipment violation. You?re on your way to the park for a trail walk, it just happens you like the trail that?s 50 miles away. The others are boring. I wonder what statute is being used? Alone in your car how does that differ from a walk? Believe me this virus is serious stuff and I am taking it serious. One of our cars, by itself on the road, draws enough attention. Two or more is going to be begging for police harassment. I seriously doubt, however, that just one of us, in our car, would be considered worth bothering.....at least if you're out in the country, on a back road, minding your own business. You guys unfortunate enough to live in the city, or one of the suburbs would probably stand a good chance of getting pulled over for "questioning". Had both Midgets out, a few times, within the past three weeks. Was going to get one out, today, to pick up a grocery store order (curbside pickup, of course), but decided I have too many other things to get done instead of digging out another car to drive. Sigh. Keep your chins (both of them) up, guys. We'll likely outlast this mess we find ourselves in and the driving will be that much sweeter for it. I started noticing a "NEW" spot on the floor under the MG - it appeared to be near the rear drivers side wheel. Found the shock body pretty wet with oil, and after looking closer actually found two newer spots and an old one - this has been brewing for a bit apparently. I pulled the shock today and hope to run to Jays and pickup one on Sunday :-) On another note - I also found that my front drivers side wheel thread was not wearing well - after consult with Jay - we determined that I need an alignment. I was recommended to see Community Motors in Canonsburg - Anyone else have a good recommendation for a "good" alignment person in the South Hills? Also - time for 4 new tires after my alignment - I am wearing evenly, but down to between 4 & 5 32nd's Helped the neighbor replace his window mechanism on his Hyundai today - boy that was an adventure :-) That is all from South Strabane.... It's time for an April Kastner Cup update. Thing can change daily, and I will notify the group of any changes as I hear of them. I spoke with Tony Parella today and the Mid-Ohio race is a go currently. SVRA rearranged some of the events earlier in the schedule but the hope is that things settle down somewhat by the end of June and the Mid-Ohio event will go on as scheduled. I inquired about the possibility of moving the event to 2021 due to the Covid-19 situation and that is just not a possibility as they have already made commitments to other groups for next year for the Mid-Ohio date. SVRA is in the process of making changes for the event to make it more social distant. Registration at the track will be different and there will be no Saturday night party. This will be more of a racing weekend and not so much of a social weekend. They are making changes to adapt as we speak, and I will update you as I can. We will have to adapt as a group also as far as the awards ceremony and hospitality area. So, we have a free race on the schedule so you cannot beat the price. Stay safe, stay well and get those race cars ready. Marty Sukey -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
