Don't think they were booked out. I need to be there Thursday & Friday & back in Tampa Friday night so we changed to a Hampton Inn down I-4 in Debary. It's 1/2 hour from track & puts us that much closer to Tampa. There were a lot of rooms available there. I'm focused on Rolex 24 & wasn't thinking Sebring yet. Have you tried all of the local motels/hotels like the Kenilworth, laQuinta, Inn on the Lakes, etc.? Rt. 27 flows well so don't be afraid to look further north or south. A few years ago we rented a house just east of the track about 5 miles. Shared cost 3-ways. Of course it should be a $49 / night place, but since they double rates to accommodate the racers that week :) it isn't too bad. It was clean, had funky pink sheets, but good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I will tell you we went to Bed Bath and Beyond across the way to get a candle to freshen up the musty smell. Hope this helps. Robyn ________________________________ From: Norm To: Jeff Snook ; vintage-race at autox.team.net Sent: Thu, December 22, 2011 8:54:05 PM Subject: Re: [Vintage-race] Sebring 12 Hr. I won't be running the Eleven at Sebring , but may consider to come down to crew for you. I should have the Elan back together by then. We stayed in our trailer last time we went to Sebring. The track shower facilities aren't grand, but we survived and you eliminate the huge traffic hassle to get back in to the track. In that case, I'll at least plan to run the pace lap and start the Friday race at the airport for a reunion photo. not sure I have enough skill to actually race the car for a full race though. I would call the event definite and there isn't any doubt in my mind that it will occur as scheduled. This will be the third year the organizers have run the event, and they are good at it. Also, the chamber of commerce already has it on their calendar at: http://www.putinbay.com/calendar.htm I guess what is in doubt would be if we can get enough SAAB race cars there to have a reunion. We have three cars with me, you and Mary Anne.. I think a good number would be 8 or more.
